Friday Five – Year Songs

January 11, 2008

Art Ruch lists five songs with years as titles, and challenges us to list some others.

  1. 1999Prince
  2. Summer of ’69Bryan Adams
  3. 2000 ManRolling Stones
  4. Early 1970Ringo Starr
  5. Walk, Don’t Run ’64The Ventures

Sorry, I couldn’t find a video clip for Ringo’s tune.  The Ventures became the first act to have two top ten hits with recordings of the same song for Walk, Don’t Run (and Walk Don’t Run ’64).  In some ways I like WDR ’64 better with all that extra drippy reverb on that rhythm guitar.
