I have to brag tonight

In my son’s final game of the regular summer season, he stepped into the batter’s box and drove the first pitch of the game over the center field fence for his first over-the-fence home run ever.  It was a hard line shot to dead center.  His team didn’t win the game, but he was a hero tonight.  He went 2 for 4, hitting the ball hard each time, and scored three of the team’s seven runs.

I was happy as a clam to dig through the weeds beyond center to look for that ball.  Another kid actually found it for him.  He was also awarded the game ball by the umpire.  Big night for the wild dog.
