Friday Night Randomness
Commissioning and Ordination Service is Saturday at Annual Conference. I’ll be robed up and commissioned. Yeeha! My only wish: that the service would take place at a church instead of the conference center.
CD of the Week: Junior Brown – The Austin Experience. Where else you gonna find a common thread between hardcore honky tonk like Hank Thompson, Jimi Hendrix, and surf guitar? I love this kind of stuff. The lyrics are often quite silly in a way that is oddly comparable to TMBG or BNL, and the guitar playing is always top-notch.
If you don’t read Barbara Wendland’s “Connections,” you should. Agree or disagree with her, the newsletter is always well written, insightful, and interesting.
The Cardinals are finally learning to win. It only took half the season. Unfortunately the guy I root for, Yadier Molina, is out with a fractured wrist.
I hate when the Daily Show and Colbert are in reruns. Can’t wait for next week.

Had my licensing ceremony last night. No one told me that I had to bring a robe. Very embarrassing to borrow one from the guy (who sits on BoOM) who coordinated the service.
